MaxStoreUK’s webinar series hosted by BGS and IDRIC
The MaxStoreUK Webinar 3: Scotland cluster took place on 10th March 2026.
The webinar shared findings from previous IDRIC-funded projects and explored how the MaxStoreUK project will build on this research to advance regional CO2 and hydrogen storage potential. It also provided an opportunity for stakeholders in the Scotland cluster to engage with researchers and to inform MaxStoreUK’s incremental research programme.
Research presentations:
- Enabling Grid-Scale Hydrogen Storage in Porous Rocks: A Pore-scale Experimental Perspective, Lin Ma, University of Manchester
- Northern and Central North Sea CO2 Storage: CO2Stored 2.0 updates and planned 2.1 refresh, Maxine Akhurst, British Geological Survey
- UK Capacity of Imported CO2 Storage and Central and Northern North Sea Appraisal Timeline, Jonathan Pearce, British Geological Survey
- The Central North Sea, a Frontier Region for UK CO2 Storage (extended presentation), John Williams, British Geological Survey
This project, led by BGS, in collaboration with IDRIC is funded by EPSRC (award number APP50312: MaxStoreUK). The views and opinions expressed are those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of IDRIC. Neither IDRIC, BGS, nor EPSRC can be held responsible for them.
