IDRIC hosts UK-Africa “Industrial Decarbonisation” Ministerial Tour

This month, we were delighted to welcome a delegation of ministers from 18 African nations. Countries represented included Ghana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mauritius, Angola, and Ethiopia.

The visit was organised in conjunction with the Department for Business and Trade as part of the UK-Africa “Industrial Decarbonisation” Ministerial Tour of the UK.

We were able talk to Ministers about the ground-breaking work we are undertaking to accelerate the development of carbon solutions for global challenges. Discussions took place regarding alignment of technologies and sectors in the just transition to net zero.

There was strong agreement on the importance of co-creating the strategic partnerships that will underpin the delivery of radical transformation to Africa’s critical infrastructure and economy.

We need to coordinate and accelerate action around the world and the event was a fantastic opportunity to share our knowledge and improve our understanding of regional contexts and opportunities.
