IDRIC’s Research Agenda →
IDRIC’s research and innovation agenda is informed by the Industrial Decarbonisation Challenge’s objectives and aims to deliver:
Decarbonising the UK’s largest industrial clusters is a key step towards reaching the UK’s net zero target.
Reaching the UK’s target of net zero emissions by 2050 needs a significant reduction of CO₂ emissions across the economy and society undertaken at pace.
This requires technological innovations and infrastructure to be deployed at scale. It is only with a whole systems approach that effective collaborations across stakeholders can take place, thus unlocking the wider social and economic benefits of decarbonisation.
By integrating this expertise with industry needs, and facilitating transfer of knowledge between clusters, IDRIC works to realise meaningful emissions reduction faster, at lower cost and risk.
