IDRIC and Environment Agency Writing Event

On 7th-8th May 2024, IDRIC and the Environment Agency co-hosted an energetic and productive discussion between technologists and environmental scientists on how net zero could change the environment by 2050.

With a focus on multidisciplinary interactions, the event fostered discussions that will inform four science papers summarising how net zero technologies will interact with water quantity, water quality, air quality and waste.

We created a space where academics, stakeholders, regulators and policymakers could come together to share their knowledge and expertise. It’s through collaborative efforts like these that we pave the way forward in tackling the challenges of achieving a sustainable net zero transition, protecting the environment and natural resources alongside mitigating climate change.

We will provide further information about the outputs of the event in collaboration with the Environment Agency in due course.
