Closing the Gap: A Global Perspective

November 2022

This report identifies global priorities across traditional hydrocarbon basins, to effect rapid deployment of net zero technologies, and proposed actions for international collaboration to address them.

Led by the Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC), analysis was conducted by twelve research and technology organisations (RTOs) – including IDRIC – across eight countries, to identify common technology innovation challenges in blue and green hydrogen, offshore wind, oil and gas electrification, digital transformation technologies, and carbon capture and storage.

The report prioritises five international collaboration actions to accelerate technology innovation and deployment internationally and achieve net zero as quickly, efficiently and affordably as possible.
