Accepting idealised solar farm portrayals? Exploring underlying contingencies

Chapter 6 in Geographies of solar energy transitions: Conflicts, controversies and cognate aspects

September 2024

This chapter explores how public attitudes towards large-scale solar energy projects are shaped by the way solar power is presented and understood. It examines how images, messages, and real-world solar installations influence perceptions of renewable energy in industrial areas. The study draws on discussions from workshops held in 2022 in South Wales, a region with strong collaboration between industry, communities, and the Welsh Government.
