The Bunter Sandstone Formation (BSF) is a primary target for planned CO2 sequestration projects in the Southern North Sea, UK. The BSF provides a storage option for many of the blocks offered in the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) 1st carbon storage licensing round and is expected to play a crucial role in decarbonising the UK’s major industrial hubs, such as Teesside and Humberside.
