Chair: Jon Maddy, IDRIC’s Academic Cluster Lead for the South Wales Cluster
This webinar will share the outcomes of some of IDRIC’s key projects supporting the decarbonisation in the South Wales Cluster:
*Enabling low carbon fuel technology deployment for power and high-temperature heat across clusters. Prof Richard Marsh, Cardiff University
*Development of an open-source toolkit to design and evaluate the performance of low carbon infrastructure for industrial clusters. Prof. Nilay Shah, Imperial College London
*Understanding public responses to industrial decarbonisation in insecure times. Profs. Nick Pidgeon/ Karen Henwood, Cardiff University
*Where to locate new bioenergy with carbon capture & storage? A natural capital approach. Caspar Donnison, UC Davis/University of Southampton
*Volatile Fatty Acids (VFA) Factory for Decarbonisation of Wastes, and from VFA to PHA – A route to Sustainable Plastics. Dr Jaime Massanet, University of South Wales
We will hear from the South Wales cluster bodies regarding decarbonisation progress, challenges and opportunities, including Ben Burggraaf (CEO, Net Zero Industry Wales), Tony Parton (Managing Director, CR Plus) and SWIC (South Wales Industrial Cluster).
We aim to highlight how research findings from these projects can be applicable to other clusters and dispersed industries and how IDRIC can take its work in the region forward.
Full agenda will be released in due course.
