Involving communities in decarbonisation planning: Practical demonstrations, Case Studies and developing a regional action plan.
The Solent region has ambitious plans to reduce its carbon emissions, with the Solent Cluster leading a group of the highest emitters in the development of new technology and planning for how to decarbonise industry. The pathways chosen will affect everyone in the region creating new economic opportunities and reshaping energy infrastructure.
Achieving Net Zero as a region requires collaboration between the public, businesses and local government. This one day conference will focus on how to involve community voices in decision making, demonstrating practical examples of how different perspectives can be captured, sharing Case Studies from other UK industrial clusters and developing an action plan for the region.
This event is being hosted by the Sustainability and Resilience Institute at the University of Southampton, in collaboration with the Solent Industrial Cluster.
